Bangkok Chao Phraya River Boat Ride

If you are tired of walking the Bangkok streets and also prefer a quieter way of sightseeing Bangkok, the Chao Phraya boat rides (or boat taxis or boat cruises) are a great way to sightsee this city. Personally, I have taken the long tail boat on the Chao Phraya river.

The tour counter is located just behind the Millennium Hilton Bangkok (Charoennakorn Road, Klongsan)

Notes about my Chao Phraya boat ride

I took a one and half hour longtail boat ride. But I believe you can also go for the more luxurious cruises.
You can choose from one hour (A), one and a half hour (B) or two hours boat ride (C).
The cost for a (B) is 1500 baht per person. We managed to bargain to 2800 baht for all 3 of us.
For (B), you get to go on the main Chao Phraya river, and also ply the canal where you can see the local live on home built by the canals. You also get to stop for about 15 minutes at the Wat Arun Temple, and finally end your ride at the Grand Palace.
The boat ride is a fantastic way to see temples, modern hotels or restaurants built on the river banks.
