I’ve tasted a few Thai dessserts because you can buy them in Singapore.
Here are some Thai Dessert recipes, in case you eat them in Bangkok and want to prepare them when you go home. Most of them seem easy to prepare.
Sangkhaya Fakthong
(Custard in Pumpkin)
Ingredients:
- Small Pumpkin
- Chicken eggs
- 1/3 cup plain sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup coconut cream
Directions:
Cut a slice off the top of the pumpkin, remove the seeds and most of the soft pulp.
In a mixing bowl, lightly whisk the eggs, add the sugar and salt and coconut cream. Blend well.
Pour the mixture into the pumpkin and cook in a steamer (for about 20 minutes) until the custard is set.
Kluai Buat Chi
(Banana Cooked in Coconut Milk)
Ingredients:
- 2-3 small, small slightly green bananas
- 4 cups thin coconut milk
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Directions
Slice the banana lengthways, then in half.
Pour the coconut milk into a pan, add the sugar and salt.
Bring to boil, add the bananas, bring back to boil for 2 minutes and then remove from heat.
