First, you need to ascertain that you are in fact visiting the original Floating Market at Damnoen Saduak, at the Ratchburi province. T his is because this place has become so popular and many floating markets have spawned around Bangkok
It’s about 110 km from Bangkok. Depending on traffic conditions, it’s about one and half or even more than 2 hours to get there.
Best to go on weekends to avoid the traffic.
It’s recommended to go with an organized tour. Most of them will pick you up from the hotel at about 6:30 am (slightly later on weekends, as there’re less traffic). Remember to clarify that it is the Damnoen Saduak market you are going to.
