Joy's Travel Notes About Hong Kong
With Hong Kong visitor arrivals reaching in the region of millions, this is one city worth finding out more about.
The last time I went to Hong Kong was about 20 years ago. I remember having steaming hot dim sum at this ‘floating restaurant’ (originally a Chinese sailing junk) and visiting Ocean Park and watching dolphins perform.
The Hong Kong today, I think, is even more vibrant and cosmopolitan, with towering skyscrapers and mega malls. Most people I know visit Hong Kong for ‘shopping-binges’ – getting stuffs which they may not get in Singapore. And in between, they feast on the quintessential Hong Kong cuisine, Dim Sum.
Away from the honk of the city, couples can also get a boat ride from the harbour. I hear the harbour view and cityscape is quite renowned. Hong Kong is also a pretty affordable destination, where you can most probably find a world-class hotel at a fraction of international prices.
