Hong Kong

Lay hoe ma?
My last visit to Hong Kong was about 20 years back, and my memories of it are eating at the Chinese Floating Restaurant and visiting the Ocean Park. While those still remain as Hong Kong highlights, I'm sure this vibrant city has evolved over the last two decades, with even more night spots, 5-star hotels and shopping centers flourishing everywhere.

Using The Phone in Hong Kong

  • Good news is that local calls are free, and many stores and restaurants will let customers use their phones for local calls, free of charge.
  • Calls from public coin phones cost HK$1.
  • Most hotels have International Direct Dialling (IDD), and some hotels charge a handling fee for local and/or international calls.
  • You can also make long-distance telephone calls from (IDD) Public Coin Phones.
  • If you think you’ll be in Hong Kong for a while, buy a stored value phonecard (HK$50, $150 and $200), which can be used in any Cardphone box. You can get the Hello Phonecard (from Hong Kong International Airport and most gift shops), which lets you call more than 30 different countries

To Phone Hong Kong

To call Hong Kong, dial the international access code (011) + Hong Kong country code (852)  +  City Code for the destination (0 for Sha Tin and Tsun Wan, and 5 for Peng Chau. ) + phone number
