Phnom Penh is a city which I know little about before my research. Except for it balmy green paddi fields, Khmer-style temples and tuk-tuks. But seems there's more to this place ...
There are daily flights from most regional airports like, Singapore, Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City, Luang Prabang in Laos, Bangkok, Taipei, Hong Kong and Hanoi via Vientiane in Laos.
Airlines include Vietnam Airlines, Dragon Air Asiana Airlines, Shanghai Airlines Bangkok Airways, low-cost carrier Air Asia, Korean Air, Lao Airlines, Thai Airways, Silk Air.
Departure taxes: US$25 for International flights and US$6 for domestic flights. Payable in USD cash.
By bus
You can take buses from the border of Thailand (Poipet), or from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, to Phnom Penh.
Cost and Duration: US$8-10, 5-6 hours

It’s best to make advance bookings. Your hotel or travel agent can make bookings for you, at a fee.
Most travelers from Thailand make a detour to Siem Reap. Buses from Siem Reap take about 5 hours.
There are also buses from Sihanoukville. The basic buses come with air-con and cost US$3-4. The better ones (US$10) are double-decker and come with spacious seats, toilets, food and drink.
By boat
You can take a ferry from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh. This take about 4-5 hours and cost US$20-30.
You can take fast boats from Chau Doc, Vietnam to Phnom Penh. This takes 5 hours.
By train
Not really recommended. It’s slow and trains depart only weekly, and ply between Phnom Penh and Battambang via Pursat. Journey takes minimum 14 hours and is US$5 for one way.
