Many people I know go to Phuket because of the sun-kissed beaches or to dive in the Andaman Sea. But for me Phuket is an ideal beachdestination to bring my kids because of its many child-friendly hotels, and its variety of kids’ activities (elephant rides, eco-tours, go-karts).
Just relish the thought of walking down the beach with your hubby, while the kids are taken care of by the hotel's baby sitting staff!
First things first. Many Westerners pronounce it as 'foo-ket'. It's actually 'poo-ket'.
Phuket is also known as the ‘Pearl of the South’. It is Thailand’s largest, most populous and most visited island! In fact, in 2006, visitor arrivals reached 4.7 million. That, to me, shows this island really knows how to keep those visitors coming back for more.
There seems to be something for everyone at this affordable beach destination. Beach lovers go there for the awesome dive spots on the Andaman Sea, or to simply soak in the scenic tropical surroundings. But what draws me about Phuket is that it is a great place to bring the kids. There are a range of child-friendly hotels, and a wealth of kids’ activities like elephant riding, eco-tours and go-karting
Phuket is also near to my home in Singapore and there are now more budget flights flying there.
