This orphanage is ran by a Cambodian church group. The leaders are fairly well-educated Cambodians who have a vision to "Rebuild a New Young Generation of Cambodia". They provide for the basic needs of the orphans including food, shelter and education.
The local leaders welcome international volunteers to work with the children and support their work.
This project houses 42 orphans between 2 to 21 years old. It is just in Phnom Penh city.
Why support this volunteering abroad project
Come help these children. Share with them your knowledge and your skills. Teach them English, as it allows them to communicate with the English speaking world. A good command of English will open a whole new world of opportunities to them.
Activities during volunteer travel
There will be 3 days of volunteering and 2 days of sightseeing activities. During the volunteering activities, volunteers will work in groups to teach the children English, crafts, games etc. There will be time to interact with the kids too. 2 days of sightseeing activities are also included for the volunteers to understand the culture and history of Cambodia. And of course, some time is set aside for shopping.
